This Privacy Policy applies to users of the website, clients, potential clients, collaborators, partners, and candidates who interact with United Expat Insurance through forms, digital channels, professional collaboration programs, or selection processes.

Purpose of Data Processing

The personal data collected by the Owner will be used for the following purposes:

  • Provision of services related to insurance intermediation.
  • Such services may, in certain cases, involve professional brokerage, advisory, management, or administrative services provided by the Owner, in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Administrative, legal, accounting, and tax management related to the contracted services.
  • Communication with the User to respond to inquiries, provide requested information, or manage claims and procedures.
  • Management of applications, selection processes, and professional collaboration relationships, including participation in partner or collaborator programs, as well as communications necessary for the evaluation, onboarding, and management of such relationships.
  • Commercial and promotional communications, provided that prior and express consent has been granted by the User.

Lawful Basis for Processing

The processing of personal data is based on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Execution of a contract or application of pre-contractual measures.
  • Compliance with legal obligations applicable to the Owner as an insurance intermediary.
  • Legitimate interest of the Owner, for example, in ensuring website security, managing professional collaboration processes, or improving services.
  • User’s consent, in cases of commercial communications or optional data.

Retention of Personal Data

Personal data will be retained for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected and while there may be legal or contractual liabilities arising from the services provided.

Specifically:

  • For insurance mediation services, data will be retained for the legally required period.
  • For professional collaboration or selection processes, data will be retained for the duration of the process and, where applicable, for the period necessary to manage the resulting contractual or professional relationship.
  • For commercial communications, data will be retained until consent is withdrawn.

Recipients of Personal Data

The User’s data may be communicated to:

  • Insurance companies with which the Owner collaborates for the mediation of policies.
  • Public administrations, when legally required.
  • Financial institutions for the collection of services.
  • Service providers acting as data processors, under confidentiality agreements in accordance with the GDPR.

Personal data will not be transferred internationally outside the European Economic Area (EEA), except where legally permitted and with appropriate safeguards.

Rights of Users

The User may exercise the following rights:

  • Right of access: Obtain confirmation as to whether personal data concerning them are being processed.
  • Right of rectification: Request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right of erasure (“right to be forgotten”): Request the deletion of personal data when they are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected.

Security of Personal Data

The Owner has implemented the necessary technical and organizational measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data, preventing their alteration, loss, unauthorized access, or improper processing, in accordance with applicable legislation.

However, the User should be aware that Internet security measures are not infallible.

Complaints before the Supervisory Authority

If the User considers that their rights have not been properly addressed, they may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) at www.aepd.es.
